How does the program work?
The program takes a personalized approach to understand the root causes of your weight gain and difficulty losing weight. We develop a tailored treatment plan with lifestyle changes, nutrition recommendations, and support to help you achieve long-term weight management success.
What is unique about this program?
You receive one-on-one care from medical doctors to really understand your health needs and empower you with the knowledge and skills to improve your health for life. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach.
What is the average weight loss?
On average, our patients lose about 15% of their starting weight and are able to maintain the weight loss. The specific amount of pounds lost varies person to person based on individual factors.
What will I be eating?
We recommend focusing on whole, minimally processed foods and decreasing refined carbohydrates while increasing protein intake. We are able to provide personalized meal planning and guidance to find a sustainable nutrition approach that fits your health needs and lifestyle.
How many calories are recommended to eat?
Instead of counting calories, we help you focus more on eating the right types of calories tailored to your needs. Calorie goals are individualized.
Do I have to Exercise?
Exercise is encouraged but not required. We’ll discuss ways to increase your daily activity that work for you, but nutrition is the primary focus.
Are prescription medications required?
Weight loss medications may be suggested based on your individual needs, but they are not mandatory. There are many options that can help improve metabolism, hunger signals, fullness and cravings. Which medication is best depends on each person’s unique needs.
The truth is some days you will lose weight and other days you will not. It is normal for body weight to fluctuate.
Exercise is beneficial but not essential for weight loss. A holistic approach that includes good nutrition, exercise, and psychological changes is essential for long-term results.
This isn’t necessarily true. There are many ‘thin’ people that suffer from chronic illnesses associated with diabetes including heart disease and diabetes.
